Education:

B.S. Mechanical Engineering, Columbia University in the City of New York, 2023

Biography

I majored in mechanical engineering at Columbia University in the City of New York. During my time at Columbia, I was the Chief Mechanical Engineer for the Formula Electric Racing team, where we passed the technical inspection in our first year competing and received awards such as the General Motors Diversity and Inclusion Award. I also volunteered as a Superuser in the Columbia Makerspace and worked as an Undergraduate Researcher in the Robotic Manipulation and Mobility Lab with Professor Matei Ciocarlie. As a researcher, I worked on designing and characterizing compact cable tensioning locking mechanisms with quick releases, which led to co-authoring the “Design of Spiral-Cable Forearm Exoskeleton to Provide Supination Adjustment for Hemiparetic Stroke Subjects for the International Conference on Rehabilitation Robotics in July, 2022. For my contributions throughout my undergraduate to the community, I was recognized by my peers and the university for diversity and inclusion as well as for student activities. I am now pursuing my Master of Science Degree at UIUC in Mechanical Engineering with an interest in robotics. More specifically, I am interested in developing technology that improves the lives of people while taking into account a variety of perspectives outside of those typically designed for.
