The Grainger College of Engineering
Education:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), Chicago, IL, USA, 2023
Minor in Mathematics
Biography:
During my undergraduate studies at UIC, I developed a passion for robotics and human-centered design. I was deeply involved in hands-on projects, including programming robots and designing 3D models, which fueled my interest in mechanical engineering. One of my most notable projects was collaborating with Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (FNAL), where I worked on an autonomous UR3e robotic arm designed to handle hazardous radioactive materials without human exposure. This project won the “Best in Show” award at UIC’s 2023 Engineering Expo in the Robotics Engineering category. I was an Apple Summer Intern Class of 2024 where I worked on Recycling Operations with an automated robotics system.Currently, my research interests focus on combining design controls and applied robotics to solve real-world challenges. My work includes designing and developing assistive devices, such as a soft robotics-based active wheelchair seat cushion aimed at preventing and treating pressure ulcers in wheelchair users. This project emphasizes the importance of human-centered design, as it autonomously adjusts pressure points to improve the safety and comfort of individuals with limited mobility. The project is in collaboration with OSF HealthCare and Jump Arches.Looking forward, my Ph.D. research will focus on expanding the applications of robotics in healthcare and mobility, further exploring the integration of control systems with adaptive technology to enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities. I also aim to develop automation technologies that reduce physical barriers, making everyday tasks easier and safer for those in need. Research Interests:
